Coodes Solicitors - media relations campaign

Coodes Solicitors is Cornwall's oldest and largest law firm. The company has a range of services but was best known for land and property, traditionally dealing with local landowners and farmers.

Although highly respected, the true extend of the firm's skills and specialist services, such as crime, family law and private client were not as highly recognised as other areas.

With the legal industry becoming more competitive, Coodes realised the need to increase awareness of the firm's services, its perception and profile as soon as possible.

Method

Although the account has matured strategically over time the initial burst of activity was a ‘no frills' media relations exercise intended to rapidly spread the message that Coodes has some of the most comprehensive and expert legal teams in the South west.

Skyfield created a public relations programme that communicated all aspects of the firm's activities to key local media, including making Coodes available for commentary on legal issues reported in the news.

Results

Through Skyfield's campaign Coodes formed vital relationships with news, business and feature writers across a wide range of print and broadcast media, which produced a constant and high quality stream of coverage, giving the firm much needed exposure for all of its specialist services.
